Hi, I'm Wiske,
baby and child sleep coach
And mom of two little sleep heroes, Andreas and Mona.
When my children were born, a whole new world opened up for me. I discovered how much impact a warm, positive approach to sleep can have and became fascinated by everything related to young children's sleep behavior. With tips from a fellow sleep coach, I experienced firsthand how you can build healthy sleep habits from the very first months. Without tears or struggle, but with trust and connection.
I also learned that you don't have to do it alone. That it's completely okay to lean on your partner when you don't feel the space or courage to work on sleep yourself. In our family, my children's father turned out to be a fantastic "sleep trainer." That experience strengthened my belief in working together as a family even more.
Those experiences have permanently changed my life as a mom. To this day, we reap the benefits of our children developing healthy sleep habits as babies. A better understanding of our children's sleep behavior provides peace and confidence, even during sleep regressions, holidays, naps and nights away from home, or when someone is sick.
That's exactly why I trained as a certified baby and child sleep coach. Today, I guide other young families towards more rest and better nights with all my heart. Because when a child sleeps better, there's room to breathe again in the family: more rest, more energy, and more joy together. And that is so valuable, in a world where parents often already carry so much.
Love, Wiske
Sleep Coaching
with a touch of magic
At Slaapridders, we start from one simple but powerful conviction: every child is a little hero who has it in them to sleep well.
Sleeping is not a trick, but a skill that can grow, step by step, in a safe and loving environment. There are many sleep training* methods out there, with roughly two extremes: letting your child cry, or being fully available day and night without any structure. At Slaapridders, we consciously choose a middle path, with a positive and encouraging approach in which we:
- lovingly strengthen your child's self-confidence
- respect your parent-child relationship
- and work towards clear, achievable sleep structures
No "one size fits all" methods, but always an approach tailored to your family, your values, and your child. Because every little knight deserves a good night's rest.
You help your child sleep, I help you do it with confidence.
The goal? Not just better nights, but also more rest, joy, and connection during the day.
*For the youngest (0-12 weeks), we focus on developing healthy sleep habits, without sleep training.
Is the Slaapridders approach right for me and my child?
My approach fits you well if:
- you want to better understand your child's sleep behavior and need clear, concrete steps.
- nights are still interrupted and you long for more rest.
- bedtime is a daily struggle.
- your toddler or preschooler regularly gets out of bed.
- you currently co-sleep and would like to change this.
- you have an early riser and would like days to start a bit later.
- naps aren't working and more daytime rest would be very welcome.
- your child can only fall asleep with help (rocking, feeding, carrying or staying next to them) and you'd like to gradually reduce that help.
My approach is not a good match if you:
- your child sleeps in your bed and you consciously want to continue co-sleeping in one bed (that's completely okay, but doesn't fit within my guidance).
- are dealing with medical issues where your child is regularly in pain and therefore can't sleep (if in doubt, I recommend contacting your pediatrician first, or feel free to send me a message).
💛 Not sure if my approach is right for you?
You don't have to figure it out alone. I'm happy to look at your situation together and help you discover which guidance best fits your family.
